My Beretta has some new goodies installed ala Quaife LSD and a lightweight flywheel.

Also, I failed to tighten one of my wheels down good enough and I didn't notice until it was too late. The wheel vibration wasn't noticeable until I got on the highway and by then it was too late: my front, driver's side wheel came off while going 75mph a week ago. Human error on my part, luckily I was the only one in the car and my cool head casually pulled the car over to the side without any hassle. The rotor took a beating no less but it definitely shook me up afterwards because that could have been really bad.

The wheel crushed the fender when it came off and rolled on its merry way, but that was about it. I since put a new, non-color matching fender and a new rotor. The frame and all the important bits are okay.

I like your project beretta more than any BMW or miata or FR-S or even Fiesta ST on here. Shine on you crazy diamond.

1) Glad you are ok.

2) Loved the Baretta when it came out (not as big a fan of the Corsica) and am glad you're giving it the life!

Keep us posted!

I had a front tire disintegrate on me on the Autobahn at similar speeds. People later told me that I was lucky that it was a front tire not rear. Apparently, as it happened with us, a front tire/wheel going awol just sends you dead straight without much stopping or steering power, whereas a rear wheel will send you spinning. Not going to test their theories though. Once was more than enough.

I swear this could be my old Z26. How long have you had it? I owned one in this color from 1999-2001 in Illinois...

I've always liked those cars, like a 'Murican Opel Calibra. Rock onwards.

My mom had a Beretta when I was a kid...I never drove it, but I imagine it could be fairly sporty with the LSD...

Last of the lighter, pre safety nanny cars...her next car was a heavy bloated Thunderbird....but it had a drivers airbag!

It handles really well as a plus, but I have the anemic 4 cylinder in it so it's not very motivated to get going compared to the V6 option on these cars. Yet Alas, it'll never be as cool as that sweet Toyota Soarer in your stable!

I bought this car in 2010 in California. It failed emissions there gloriously! It's also the base model that didn't have the kit on it until I added it on afterwards. It would have been real crazy if it was actually your car if I got one from Illinois!
